Ticket Giveaway-The Revival Tour

 The Revival Tour

The Altar Bar

Saturday March 31, 2012

Strip District

Since 2008, folk punker Chuck Ragan has been headlining these tours to promote acoustic music in a rock and roll vein. Collaborating with other musicians to stress 'comraderie', the tour hits Pittsburgh at the end of this month. Courtesy of the cool folks at Drusky Entertainment, I have two tickets to offer for the all ages show. To enter, you must follow me on Twitter @HughShows and retweet  at least one of my giveaway announcements. The winners will be randomly chosen and announced on Friday 3/23. There will be two passes at will call under the name of the winner. You must bring valid I.D. to will call the night of the show. Again, you must be a follower and RT to enter. Thanks and good luck.

Anyone who is at all familiar with my work or who has seen me shooting a show knows that I am a 'stage hugger'. I feel I have to get up in the musicians grill to get the shot. Sometimes restrictions won't allow me to get close but usually I am there as inconspicuously as possible. So it was weird not opting to go up during Chuck's set even though I could have. Maybe it was soaking up the inaugural night of the outdoor venue? I don't know. To me there is a flatness to shooting from the crowd and well, you the viewer be the judge. As for the performance, he had this raw, 'Poguesh' vibe going that, while good, went on about 15 minutes too long.
