First/Last-Rebuilding Year

Rebuilding Year is a melodic punk rock band from Pittsburgh who play tonight (6/8) in Braddock at Ink Division opening for No Tide. I want to thank Jeremy Voelker (Guitar) for taking the time to participate in this edition of First/Last.

The first album you ever bought?
Metallica "Master of Puppets". With the full cardboard CD sleeve... waste of paper probably why that packaging was short lived....

Your last album bought?
Good Riddance "Peace in Our Time". Great record by the way. One of my favorite bands. They don’t know how to disappoint.

Favorite album of all time?
Favorite of all time is tough... I may have to go with one of these three... Strung Out "Twisted by Design", Lagwagon "Double Plaidinum",  Diesel Boy "Cock Rock". Gotta love 90's era skate punk...

Least favorite/most disappointing album?
Would have to be ummmm... you know, I’m not sure. I don’t wanna talk trash on anyone’s art. Everyone needs an outlet. Who am I to judge?

First concert attended?
The Charlie Daniels Band. I think I was 9 or 10. I wish I could see that show now, it would probably be amazing...

Last concert?
I saw Strung Out with Red City Radio last month. Strung Out always puts on a great show. Red City Radio was amazing. They are becoming one of my favorite "new" bands.

Favorite concert ever?
May have been NOFX, Bouncing Souls and Hi Standard. Not even so much for the music but because I ran into some old pals and we decided to have a lot of fun for the following 12 years or so.

Least favorite concert?
Would be when I worked the Scarface show at Metropol. I was bartending and he cancelled last minute. I thought there was gonna be a riot when people started throwing bottles and demanding their money back. Needless to say I didn’t make much that night.

Favorite thoughts, experiences about Pittsburgh?
I’ve played a million shows and have a ton of great memories of this city with my friends and family. I couldn’t begin to pick one. But I’m looking forward to making more with Rebuilding Year.

Thanks, Jeremy.Well there's another reason to hate Metropol. I realize it wasn't on the venue in your instance but any excuse to call that place the pits is a good one.
