First/Last - Hand Habits

"Meg Duffy hasn’t stopped moving, working, or growing since she left her quiet childhood home in upstate New York. You can find her in the back of the van reading a book, quietly warming up backstage with some guitar workouts, or waiting tables at a neighborhood pizzeria. Though Meg didn’t pick up the instrument until she was seventeen years old, her intuitive, naturalistic musicality and commitment to the craft of guitar playing have made an in demand collaborator and guitarist for countless indie acts (Kevin Morby, Mega Bog, Weyes Blood) and kept her between the road and the studio for almost three straight years."

Hand Habits is the moniker of L.A. based songwriter Meagan Duffy who released her debut effort Wildly Idle (Humble Before the Void) this Friday (2/10) via Woodsist (streaming now via Hypem) and is currently touring but unfortunately skipping Pittsburgh this time out. Maybe she will be playing guitar for labelmate Kevin Morby as she has been known to do when he swings through next month? I want to thank her taking the time to participate in this edition of First/Last.

I had the honor and pleasure of opening for Wilco for two nights and their live performance really blew me away. Seeing Mount Eerie was very powerful.

Thanks, Meg. I am loving what I hear of the album. Hopefully, Pittsburgh may be on your radar in the future! Also, Rumours was my first album, too.
