These Boston boys are my favorite 'new' band right now. Their debut album was my #1 favorite album of 2007. This is the second time they've rolled through town in less than a year and both times they opened with "To All My Scientist Colleagues I Bid You Farewell" at my request. I am hoping this is a start of a Pittsburgh tradition. What a song. I was able to hang out and shoot the breeze with the guys and I wish them all the success in the world, they totally deserve it. As a side note...Hmmpph, hey Elio, where's my shirt, boyeee?

Garfield Artworks

Gloriously rising from the ashes of one of my favorite unsung bands of all-time One Star Hotel, the philly outfit The Swimmers finally brought their straight-ahead pop to the wonderfully dirty Garfield Artworks. I was really surprised at the turn-out. There were maybe twenty something attendees present when I can remember three people waiting for Steve's former band to play The Quiet Storm a few scant years earlier. The band sounded great and even though I was looking forward to catch up with bass player/band artist in resident Rick, Tony made up for it with his playing and all around laid-back attitude.

Buckhead Saloon

This was one strange show. It was in a sports bar in town. It was sponsored by Camel cigarettes(If you showed I.D. you got two packs of smokes and a BBJ t-shirt). Bobby was ready to play two hours but got yanked after 45 minutes to make way for the ladies night D.J. Yippee!

I also lost the setlist that night because I was being a wuss and waited to 'ask' Bobby for it while the only other people there to see him snagged it. I'm-a-slippin'.
