First/Last-Aircraft

"Born out of the Industrial skeleton that is Buffalo, NY. Aircraft first began writing music in 2011. They are composed of musicians who have been active in the Buffalo music scene, in many different ways, for years. Aircraft's music embodies the rust belt atrophy that surrounds it: The songs draw heavily on structures and textures of 60s pop music, but they build significantly on this nostalgic past with layers of psychedelic guitars and keyboards. On top of this add four part vocal harmonies and what you have is a truly unique sound. Their music is paying homage to our collective musical heritage not through replication but through rejuvenation."

Check out the band at their official Website, Facebook, SoundCloud and BandCamp. The band's latest release is their debut full length, "Sonic Boom" and they hit Pittsburgh tomorrow night at Howler's Coyote Cafe. Along with fellow 'Buffalodians' The Tins and locals The Mee Toos, they support friends of the blog Coronado as they celebrate their 2-year anniversary as a band. My thanks to Justin John Smith (Guitar/Vocals) for taking the time to participate in this edition of First/Last.

I am hoping to evoke the ghost of Andy Warhol during our performance at Howler’s only to ask how Lou Reed is doing. Also, we are exited to travel into your city to play music.

Thanks, Justin. I love how Beach House gave you anxiety. They always bring me sleep.
