First/Last - Brash Teeth

Brash Teeth are a relatively new garage rock trio from Pittsburgh who have some demos up at their BandCamp page, which you can hear live as the band play around town regularly. As we await an official debut from the guys, I want to t Gene Vercammen (Guitar/Vocals), Derek Krystek (Drums) and Matthew Eugene (Bass) for taking the time to participate in this edition of First/Last.

Gene: Some Nights by Fun.

Derek: The Needles, the Space by Straylight Run.

Matthew: Say Anything by Say Anything.

First concert attended?

Gene: B94 Summer Stretch Concert Series (1999).

Derek: Rush (1996).

Matthew: Barenaked Ladies (99/00).

Last concert?
Gene: Local Pgh group Big Treble at Rhododendron Pavillion in Highland Park.
Derek: Weatherbox and Narrow / Arrow at Double Happiness in Columbus, OH.

Favorite concert ever?
Gene: Definitely Brand New, metwithoutYou, and Thrice at AJ Palumbo Center.
Derek: Guster. Every time.

Least favorite concert?

Gene: Lynryd Synyrd at PNC Park.

Derek: Pearl Jam.

Matthew: Boomboxxx.

Favorite thoughts, experiences about Pittsburgh?

Gene: Standing on a roof on Ward St. watching Derek being filmed with the downtown skyline and 40+ people hanging on his every word. There is video evidence online.

Derek: Playing and seeing shows at Pittsburgh Winery. Every time is the best time (shout out to Styckz).

Matthew: Playing basement shows at the Sanctuary.
