First/Last-Gedeon Luke & The People

Gedeon and the band are currently touring behind their debut release, "Live Free & Love" and stop in Greensburg for the Summer Sounds series at Saint Clair Park this Friday. I want to thank Gedeon for taking the time to participate in this edition of First/Last.

The first album you ever bought?
Al Green “Let's Stay Together”. This record and Al completely resonated with me then and for that fact still right now.

Your last album bought?
Tony McKinney “Love Me Right”. This was my Father’s record and I needed to get it because I miss him so much, that I needed to hear his voice. While I am on tour, my Daddy will always be with me.

Favorite album of all time?
“What's Going On” by Marvin Gaye. The message is so powerful and is still needed today. Listening to these songs will never fade away.

Least favorite/most disappointing album?
I can't answer that because I have the utmost respect for everyone's creativity and artistry and I will never put that down.

First concert attended?
Seal concert in Memphis, TN and I was 14 years old. I remember that I had just purchased his record, loved it, needed to see him perform it and I walked away saying "That’s what I want to do with my life".

Last concert?
Alicia Keys at The Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. I remembered how beautiful she was and she sounded. I also admired how she still keeps her soulful roots to this day but keeps relevant at the same time.

Favorite concert ever?
Prince at Madison Square Garden and my reason is simple. No man can dance all night long in High Heeled Shoes, play guitar and keep the people on their feet like his "Royal Badness".

Least favorite concert?
All the artists I have ever seen are legendary and they never ever disappointed me.

Any thoughts, experiences about Pittsburgh?
All I know from Pittsburgh is the Steelers, hardworking people, they love music and I can't wait to come and play some of mine for them. They don't know it yet but all of Pittsburgh is in The People.
