First/Last-Swear and Shake

"SWEAR AND SHAKE is an indie-folk-rock quartet based out of New York. While attending school at SUNY Purchase College, singer-songwriters Adam McHeffey and Kari Spieler collaborated on a simple one mic demo. Shortly after realizing the potential in their work together, the duo was joined by electric bassist Shaun Savage and drummer Tom Elefante, adding a colorful new energy to their singable and lyrically driven songs. Although Swear and Shake is still a new band, they have shared the stage with notable acts as the Avett Brothers, Alison Krauss, Ray LaMontagne, and Levon Helm at the 6th Annual Mountain Jam Festival, and continue to play venues across the tri-state area"

The first album you ever bought?
Kari Spieler: Tonic, "Lemon Parade".

Your last album bought?
Kari: Lord Huron, "Lonesome Dreams". We played with them at Midpoint Music Festival in Cincinnati this past fall. Amazing outfit.

Favorite album of all time?
Adam McHeffey: The Zombies, "Odyssey and Oracles".

Least favorite/most disappointing album?
Adam: Most disappointing, the new Margot and The Nuclear So and So's record. They're so good, too. Don't tell anyone I said that.

First concert attended?
Ben Goldstein: My dad playing when I was an infant.

Last concert?
Ben: of Montreal at Webster Hall, NYC.

Favorite concert ever?
Shaun Savage: Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros at Mercury Lounge in 2009. That was SUCH a good concert.

Least favorite concert?
Shaun: I won't use any names, but it was definitely some kid on the ground dialing pedals making noise. It literally broke a glass bottle.

Favorite thoughts, experiences about Pittsburgh?
Shaun: I walked over a bunch of bridges. I took a cable car up a mountain, that was neat.
Ben: Didn't they win the Super Bowl a couple years ago?
