The Beauregards

"The Beauregards formed in late 2009 after the indefinite hiatus of their former band. Beginning as a trio with Tim Korenich on vocals, guitar, and bass; Josh Hischar on lead guitar, bass, and other instruments; and Evan Bellan on drums, the band looked to break into the indie music scene. In 2011, the band welcomed Chris Trepagnier to take over on bass, allowing the band to progress further musically. The band released its first EP (Good Try) this past year, which is available on Bandcamp, Amazon.com, iTunes, and CDBaby. The Beauregards are looking forward to a busy summer of shows on the East Coast."

The proudly Pittsburgh band is playing tonight at Smalls supporting Band of Skulls. My thanks to the boys for taking some time to participate in this edition of First/Last.

The first album you ever bought?
Evan Bellan (Drums): “Country Grammar”, Nelly.
Chris Tito Trepagnier (Bass): “Back for the First Time”, Ludacris.
Josh Hischar (Guitar): “Queen’s Greatest Hits”.
Tim Korenich (Vocals, Guitar): “Blood Sugar Sex Magik”, The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Your last album bought?
Evan: “In the Pit of the Stomach”, We Were Promised Jetpacks.
Tito: “Over the Sun and Under the Radar”, Jungol.
Josh: :”YT//ST”, Yamantaka // Sonic Titan.
Tim: Either “Hard to Find”, American Analog Set, or The Bynars self-titled album.

Favorite album of all time?
Evan: “Favourite Worst Nightmare”, Arctic Monkeys.
Tito: “Mother’s Milk”, RHCP.
Josh: “Live at Leeds”, The Who.
Tim: Lately it’s been a tie between “The Best of the Impressions”, and the For Carnation’s self-titled album. Throw Death Cab’s “We Have the Facts” in there, too.

Least favorite/most disappointing album?
None of us really have one.

First concert attended?
Evan: Dave Matthews Band.
Tito: Either Li’l Romeo in New Orleans or Danilo Perez.
Josh: The White Stripes.
Tim: RHCP in Columbus.

Last concert?
Tim: Evan and I went to see Jeff the Brotherhood in Cleveland last week.
Tito: Mac Miller/Wiz Khalifa.
Josh: The WYEP Music Festival with Dr. Dog and Sharon Van Etten.

Favorite concert ever?
Evan: A few years ago when State Radio played a benefit at Shadyside.
Tito: RHCP in Pittsburgh in May.
Josh: The Black Keys in Pittsburgh.
Tim: Anytime that I’ve seen the Poison Control Center. Those guys are incredible performers. Really nice, too.

Least favorite concert?
Evan: Walk Off the Earth.
Tito: My mom took my siblings and I to go see Bo Bice for free. The whole time we were just asking her, “Can we leave yet?”
Josh: Passion Pit.
Tim: That Jeff the Brotherhood show was really disappointing. They didn’t seem to really care. Toward the end they said they’re playing a few more and going to bed. No encore. It left a lot to be desired.

Favorite thoughts, experiences about Pittsburgh?
Josh: Our music really doesn’t fit in with a lot of the “scenes” that are around the city, especially with folks our age. But I love the people and the city with all my heart.
Tito: Great city to live in. Great atmosphere, and who doesn’t love the South Side?
Evan: Primanti’s, bitch.
Tim: Pittsburgh’s a major city that has a real blue-collar vibe to it. There’s a strong work ethic and an honesty to the people that live in the area. I love it here, and on the rare occasion we do play out of town gigs, it makes me proud to say we’re from Pittsburgh.

Thanks, fellas. Have fun tonight. After the gig go grab a Primanti's, BITCH!
